What Gates came for
We all were told Gates is coming to India, for a social cause. Ya, he sort of did that and pledged ``a long-term, strategic commitment to support the country's efforts to slow the spread of HIV/AIDS''. One can't figure out the strategy. This, not without controversy. The Health Minister refused to meet him for his misleading statements in press. Looks like FUD figures in AIDS too. His social commitments lasted for about half a day. The rest of his visit is purely for business. As can be seen from his announcement of $400 million investment in India. Well, even the local TV reporters said that this was after the recent steps of the Indian Govt to support Linux.
