Gmail Tools

I found some more interesting tools to make your Gmail experience smoother —

  • G-Mailto: Sets Gmail as your default mail program in Windows. So when you click on a mailto:// url, your favourite web browser will open up a page with Gmail’s Compose window. Pretty nifty.

  • GTray: Windows system tray notifier for new Gmail mail.

  • GmailCompose: A Mozilla Firefox extension to open the Gmail compose window with the click of a button.

  • Gmail Loader: Import your existing mail into Gmail!

  • Other supporting apps to help move to Gmail.

I have written an addressbook exporter for unix PINE users who want to switch to gmail. Also included, a mail replication procmail recipie that stops mail loops. http://clint1.dsl.patriot.net/tools/mail/pine_addressbook_exporter/
thank you so much for posting these!!! :D i already loved GMail, i'm sure that love will double as soon as i install "GTray" et al. great blog. :)
Gmail doesn't work for me; I'm on a Mac, and only use IE, and that combo is "unsupported." I'm still supposed to be able to log in and use most of the features, but that always gives me an error message. I hope they don't expect me to get a whole other browser running just to access an email account that I don't actually need, lol. I avoid Mac-hostile services like the plague, so, even if they ever make their accounts work with IE, they're out of luck if they want me to use their email service.
I would love to try out Gmail. Wondered whether anyone here would have an invite to spare ... ? Enjoyed your blog, btw. With or without gmail ;-) best, H

I found a few more gmail utilities here.
I just finished my Gmail notification application called gNotify. gNotify monitors your Gmail account and notifies you via the systray when new mail arrives. To download it, or for more information and screenshots, visit: http://www.gNotify.com/

Just came across this website which can convert your Gmail account to a blogging tool. It's by some Mexican programmer and I think it runs on PHP. The website is : http://ion.gluch.org.mx/files/Hacks/gallina/
I have written a notifier application called GMNotifier it is at http://www.g2007.com/GMNotifier/
I have written a little app to look at my gmail - just cus i was sick of it getting muddled up with my internet explorer windows. It's pretty basic - but it'll put the number of mails you have in the taskbar at the bottom - like outlook. http://www.magicweasel.com/site/gmail.exe
I have just been trying out a Linux clone of the Notifier program released by Google, it seems to work really well. Take a look: http://gmail-notify.sourceforge.net/
see http://www.san-pietroburgo.info/
how do you get g-mail? I would like to.
I've written a web based gDrive in PHP that allows you to store files of any size (other gDrives are limited by gMail's max of 10Mb per attachment) check it out here: http://www.puremango.co.uk/cm_gdrive_109.php

Try http://draadnagel.parelnet.nl and listen to music from gmail accounts.
Try the Notifier2 for keeping an eye on multiple gmail accounts. Also works with adsense. Has GDrive and some limited GTalk integration. Its at http://www.notifier2.com
