PSLV Launch

September 19, 2002 01:45 AM

Satellite PhotoPSLV Launch I was pleased to know the ISRO has got another feather in its cap. For as low as Rs. 75 crores (i.e. USD 15 million), they managed to launch a satellite. About 12 times cheaper than what China could achieve. For one, we have beaten the Chinese in their own game. :-) From the Slashdot thread, I came to know that SpaceImaging, one of the largest satellite image suppliers, gets most of its data from the IRS series of satellites.

Interesting...very interesting ... wonder what ISRO will come up with next? If India has such a huge cost advantage, maybe it would be possible to boost space traffic to high budget benefitery levels!!
